ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Balmoral Elementary School is a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school. The school offers all of the regular programs of English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, French, Music, Physical Education, Health and Art, as well as Life Skills for Grade 8, and Band for Grades 6, 7 and 8. Our school population for this school year is approximately 106 students and 23 staff members, including 1 principal, 9 teachers, 9 teaching assistants, a library technician, a library clerk, a secretary and custodian.

FEBRUARY IS “I LOVE TO READ MONTH” - Theme: “Camp Read-a-Lot”

Jan. 25  - Art Enrichment class starts-ends Feb. 22

Feb. 1 - S’more Fun with a Book! Guess how many marshmallows are in the container

Feb. 2 - Groundhog Day

Feb. 3 -4  - Curriculum Focus Days - NO SCHOOL

Feb. 6 - PAC Meeting @ 7 p.m.

Feb. 8 - Science Exam

Feb. 8 - Sleeping under the Stars - Wear your pajamas, grab a sleeping bag, and “camp out” with a good book!

Feb. 10 - Social Studies Exam

Feb. 14 - Valentine’s Day

Feb. 15 - National Flag Day

Feb. 15 - Watch out for Bears! Dress up as a forest animal or a camper.

Feb. 16 - Bookmobile

Feb. 20 - Louis Riel Day - NO SCHOOL

Feb. 22 - Art Enrichment classes end

Feb. 22 - Campfire Treats (hot dog sale, with a treat → we will send home pre-order forms later this month

Feb. 24 - Park Committee - Race for the cup Skate-a-Thon - Will include a hot chocolate and hot dog sale.

Feb. 29 - Reel in a Good Book!  Bring in a favourite book, and share with a friend → Make sure you have brought in your completed fish book report
